part of where I'm going, is knowing where i'm coming from
my boyfriend meeting up with the mayor of sf for some coffee.
This is a moment I will cherish forever. Never would I have thought I’d be able to sit down and chat with the mayor of San Francisco over coffee. Well at least not at this age, I figured I would get that chance when I got older, since I was relatively young compared to most folks he sees regularly. But, I’m glad I was able to get to know him, his background, his thoughts on my opinions pertaining to life and the future of San Francisco. He is extremely eloquent and detailed in his answers. I didn’t have to elaborate or ask the same question twice. But, as much as I would like to praise his greatness, I need to create my own legacy as well. Thank you Mayor Ed Lee.
This is another step in my journey of a thousand miles.
date night
i have a date tonight. yay. it’s been so long since i’ve been on a date. i wonder if he’ll buy me flowers?!
in the words of jessie spano “i’m so excited!…..i’m so scared“

-
- manning:
- babe, guess what i named my computer hard drive?
-
- me:
- i don't know, what did you name it?
-
- manning:
- my computer's name is 'that ass'
-
- me:
- uhmm...
-
- manning:
- every month my computer will ask me if i want to "back that ass up?"
-
- we both laughed. the end.
seriously…
while writing this post, i know this is something i will probably remember forever…
a couple of weekends ago, my sister’s future in-laws came to visit my parents house for a dinner party. just like most weekends, my parents expect manning to visit. as manning met my sister’s in-laws for the first time, my future brother-in-law’s grandmother[aka grandma] is intrigued at the fact the manning is chinese. before i go any further, here is grandma’s profile:
clara soares [aka grandma]: 88 years old and is amazed at the fact she can walk and talk on her own / excited that she can see her dog’s penis again after his dramatic weight loss / fond of FDR / remembers when hawaii wasn’t a state
as grandma and manning chat it up in front of: my parents, sister, future brother-in-law, sister’s future mother-in-law and father-in-law, and my uncle, grandma puts us on blast and asks “are you guys serious?”
awkward. thanks, grandma.
manning’s response: “if i weren’t here, i wouldn’t be serious.” grandma, along with everyone else, was happy with his response. :]
happy two years, babe! thanks for an amazing weekend. here’s to another wonderful two years! <3

on a side note: wow, my boyfriend is incredibly handsome. inside and out. lucky me. :]
I’m not insensitive. I just don’t give a fuck.
my boyfriend can be the harshest person you’ll ever meet, if you cross him. but realize when he’s tearing you a part, he’ll tear you a part with the truth.
the first few years of your life, your parents teach you how to walk and talk. the rest of your life, your parents tell you to shut up and sit down.
manning yumy boyfriend [future mayor of SF] wrote this.
A Pure Democracy. It CAN happen at UCM right now.
“Taking away this bill would not only harm 12 different organizations on campus which in total represents over 360 students, but would also harm all those students who had planned on attending these events.”
What of the 4,000 other undergraduate students who aren’t in these 12 different organizations?
I believe that this situation should be brought up to every student on campus. It should NOT be up to the Senators (some of whom are members of sororities/fraternities) to decide this bill. This would be a conflict of interest.
This bill should be brought forth to the UC Merced student body not as a bill, but as a proposition. The student body should have a direct voice in deciding where their money goes. Therefore, I believe the most ideal solution would be to have a general vote to pass or reject this bill or proposition. This is UC Merced, we are UC MERCED. We have 4,381 undergraduate students, each and every single one should be made aware of this bill and everyone should have a vote to decide where their money goes. The student body should have this option. I understand that not everyone is going to vote. But, a student government is not based on polling turnouts. It is based on providing every student the option to vote. The option must be there.
If this cannot be carried out, then the ASUCM President should VETO this bill. How can this senate say they represent the student body’s voice,
when not every voice has been heard?
Also, to those who point out that the other UCs have longer, well-established, well-funded sororities/fraternities. I only have one question for you. How do you think they were established without school funding?
This is UC Merced, we will be a democracy.

just a side note greek life, with this bill you’re taking the easy way out. learn something from your philanthropy and do some work to get that money. anyone can just write a bill, trust me i know.
since this bill passed, i think VSA and all other clubs should be reimbursed for their recruitment efforts. just sayin’.
